February 17th_Homework_Class 10 & 11
Dear Students
As we discussed in class last week, I am away until next Monday. When I see you again, Monday the 24th, we will start our 3D bust. If you do not have your drawings from this weekend's homework finished and with you, beginning your form will be next to impossible to do. Also, most of you have not done all the assigned homework for the course. Given that next week is midterm, missing work is going to be a huge problem. Here is my solution to keep us focused on the here and now: I have created a 'midterm' folder and placed it into all of your Google Drive digital sketchbook folders. If you will digitally label and place class 9 homework and class 10-11 homework into this midterm folder by Sunday midnight, I will use this work to create your midterm grade. If you do not have it in place, your midterm grade will reflect this absence. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Here is the homework for class 10-11
I am sending a list of 10 artists [see below]. Pick 5 artists after looking at their work. Use images you collected this weekend of your public figure to make 2 drawings in the style of each artist. To get full credit I will need you to upload the image of the public figure you are looking at, an image of the artist's work you are emulating and your drawing. The drawings you make will be an attempt at the artist's style. These should be in black and white. Your drawings should be closer to finished drawings, but do not need to be perfect. Additionally, your work should demonstrate what we have covered so far in class in terms of the head and its features. Adding additional elements such as contexts or bodies will be bonus points for you if these convey something about the waves your public figure is making.
Here the shortlist of what I am asking for:
Pick 5 artists you like
For each artist, pick 2 caricatures of their work you like. Use these images to create two new drawings using your public figure image in their style.
When you are done making your drawing, put the following in your Google Drive folder for said image
-image of the public figure used for reference
-picture of artwork you are emulating the style of [could just be an image of the artist's that you think is amazing!]
-picture of the drawing created
REPEAT
x5 artists
= 10 drawings
